TORONTO – York Regional Police have arrested a man in relation to a series of crimes that involved him entering Ontario tanning salons and, allegedly, licking women’s feet.
The man, 28-year-old Mattieu Petrin, has been charged with four counts of sexual assault, three counts of theft under $5,000, robbery and sexual interference with a person under the age of 16.
Police say that the first reported incident of the serial foot-licker happened on November 19, when Mattieu entered a tanning salon in Richmond Hill around 3:35 p.m., approached a woman, and asked if he could take a look at her shoes.
The suspect then tried to smell the woman’s shoes and fled the scene with it. The following day, he entered another tanning salon in Richmond Hill, approached a woman, and began asking questions about her boots. He then grabbed the victim’s leg, removed her boot and sock, and then licked her foot without consent.
He later fled the scene with the victim’s boot and sock.
Mattieu is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, November 27.
